Quick reviews: Thor Ragnarok & Justice League
Hey everybody,
Been a long time since I spoke to you, but you already knew I would be quiet for 2 months. Luckily I found the time between sweating my pants of in 33 degree Celsius and painting the walls of a school to write two quick reviews. If you follow me on Instagram you have seen that I was able to see Thor Ragnarok in Thailand, and there is more good news, because I was also able to see Justice League last week as well. I write you guys to give you all two quick reviews on the new installments to the MCU and the DCEU.
Thor: Ragnarok
This movie was unlike any other Marvel movie I have ever seen before. It was so m enjoyeduch more funny and sarcastic then previous installments. It took me the first part of the movie to get used to that, but from the moment Thor stepped into the arena I fell in love with these movie. seeing Thor interact with the Hulk and a bunch of other great new chracters was an absolute pleasure to behold. The tone of this movie is very different, but any fan of the MCU will love this awesome new installment. 4,5/5
Justice League
The anticipation for this movie was so high, and I am really sad to hear the movie flopped the way it did. I really liked this movie, it actually surprised me. I too must admit I felt, especially at the beginning of the movie, the rush in which they try to bring the DCEU together. I still think this movie came way too soon and that they should have introduced these characters a lot more before teaming them up. But I got over that and enjoyed it. The characters have a great chemistry and Ezra Miller's Flash has a few laugh out load moments. Yes, the plot is very 'simple' and the villain only wants destruction, but how many superhero movies have a plot that goes otherwise? Even the villain in Thor Ragnarok wants only destruction and what do you think Thanos will want in the end? I do agree that this movie still has a lot of plotholes and unanswered questions, but in general I liked this movie more then I expected. It had its heart at the right and really touched me during some moments. 3,5/5
