December reviews - Coco, Star Wars and Jumanji

Hey everybody,

It's time for change. I am going to be honest: I am not that enthusiastic for writing reviews as I was when I started my blog. I have been the owner of this blog for two years now and I have noticed that I have not really grown in popularity. Writing a full review has become harder, especially because I write the review in two languages. That is why I am introducing a new concept. I will now release a blog at the end of each month in which I review the movies I have seen that month in just a few sentences. This will take me a lot less time to write them, because there is no pressure in writing them the same night that I have seen the movie. Maybe this way I will gain back some of the enthusiasm I had two years ago. Time to review

Coco (★★★★☆)
I can honestly say that it has been a long time since I cried so hard during a movie. I have always had a weakness for animated movies, but this movie really hit me in the heart. The story is beautiful. but if you think about it, really heavy and tear-jerking material. Leave it to Disney and Pixar to put in beautiful visuals and catchy songs to keep both children and parents entertained.

Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (★★★★☆)
Finally, the next chapter in one of the most beloved sagas ever, and it was unlike everything I ever expected. I had to watch this movie twice to realize what a great movie it truely is, but I was really divided after the first viewing. I had several moments when the movie didn't really feel like a Star Wars or when the story and characters confused me. Luckily the movie defenitly have some fan-pleasing moments and great visuals. I advise everyone who was conflicted after the first viewing to go a second time.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (★★★☆☆)
Boy am I glad this movie isn't a remake. As a remake it would have totally failed, but as a sequel it works actually much better then expected. I honestly didn't expected it to be as funny as it was, especially the first hour really surprised with some laugh out loud moments. I was really happy that they paid homage to the original and didn't ruin that. The concept of Jumanji turning into a videogame was a pretty smart movie and this is a movie you can watch with friends for a fun viewing.

So there you have it, my reviews of December. I hope you guys had a great Christmas and stay away from dangerous fireworks, because I would hate to see you loose a few fingers. I will be back soon with my 10 most anticipated movies for 2018.

Till next time,
