The Nice Guys (EN) Review

Hey everybody,

I think I'm spending to much time in the cinema because A. the people who work there are starting to recognize me and B. my friends told me: 'Manouk, you're spending to much time in the theater'. Well that's a pretty clear message. Well I also have a message to you now: go and spend some time in the theater watching The Nice Guys!!

Gosling and Crowe play a mismatched pair of private eyes who investigate the missing of a young lady and the death of a porn star. They are however not the only ones interested and the other parties involved may not be as 'nice' as they are.

The whole ride home I just couldn't stop laughing. I found this movie so freaking hilarious. Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe just make the perfect pair and proof why they are both well respected actors. Besides hilarious this movie is also action-packed and well written and directed by Shane Black. And let's face it, Ryan Gosling is just one handsome man, that's got to count for something, right ladies?

Ghost in the Shell (NL) Review

Hoi allemaal, Notitie voordat ik begin: Ik heb nog nooit de Ghost in the Shell anime versie gezien en ik was ook niet bekend met het verhaal erachter, dus ik ging helemaal blanco deze film in. Dit betekent dat ik niet in staat zal zijn om de film te vergelijken met de anime versie. Ik wist ook niet wat ik moest verwachten van deze film en wanneer de film een hoopvol begin had en zijn potentie gelijk liet zien dacht ik dat ik goed zat. Echter, behalve de spectaculaire actie scenes, weet de film het tempo niet hoog te houden. Ik ben mijn concentratie een aantal keer verloren. welke alleen werd terug gewonnen tijdens de actie scenes. Het hielp ook niet dat de film een aantal scenes had toegevoegd die absoluut geen invloed hadden op het verhaal, waardoor de film erg lang aanvoelde. Het idee achter de film vond ik erg leuk en de wereld die gecreëerd is, is visueel prachtig en deed me soms erg denken aan Blade Runner (1982). Baby Driver (NL) Review

Hoi allemaal, No matter what, iedereen krijgt altijd zijn eigen verwachtingen na het zien van een trailer of preview. Ik probeer daarnaast altijd mijn eigen regel te volgen: niet meer naar de trailer van een film kijken 2 maanden voordat de film uitkomt, zodat ik zo verrast mogelijk ben. Mijn verwachting van deze film was best hoog, ik vond de trailer in mijn herinnering fantastisch. Ik denk dat jullie wel kunnen raden waar dit heengaat: Baby Driver was helaas een beetje teleurstellend in mijn ogen. Begrijp me niet verkeerd, het was best een leuke film. De actie scenes met de auto's waren leuk, ik houd daar sowieso wel van, maar de stukken daartussen konden mijn aandacht niet echt vasthouden. Misschien had ik meer actie verwacht of een ander soort humor.
