Suicide Squad (EN) Review
Hey everybody,
Fan or no fan I think we can all agree that the DC Extended Universe has had a rough start. It appears that every movie so far has fans and critics divided. We've seen that with both Man of Steel (2013) and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016). So the DCEU had their hopes fixed on the new addition Suicide Squad. But then again the world was divided: critics didn't love it and the fans got angry because they did. Reading all these mixed oppinions always make me more and more curious to see any movie. Well after seeing the movie I can understand why there's so much commotion surrounding this movie
While Superman is presumed dead, a secret government agency decides to prepare for when a 'new' Superman/metahuman with more darker intentions rises. They 'recruit' a group of imprisoned supervillains to execute dangerous black ops missions. But putting a group of supervillains is as difficult as it sounds and will eventually lead to chaos.
Don't get me wrong, I really want the DCEU to be as amazing as the MCU is, but Suicide Squad is a bit of a mess. I liked it, but it wasn't perfect. The performances were great: Margot Robbie as as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot and Jared Leto as the newest incarnation of the Joker. Leto had some big shoes to fill, but brings his own twist to the character. The love story between the Joker and Harley Quinn is very interesting. However the storytelling wasn't always great, the transition between different scenes was a little bit off sometimes and that made sure I wasn't really pulled into the story. But I can say this: this movie is unlike anything we've ever seen.
