Fall Movie Preview 2016

Hey everybody,

Summer is over and I don't normally think that is good, but this summer season we were very disappointed. Normally summer is the time for big summer blockbusters and box office hits, last year we had both Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) and Jurassic World (2015). This year almost every movie underperformed at the box office and the quality wasn't good either. So just let this summer get over and start to look ahead: fall is upon us. This means new movies: a Harry Potter spin-off, a new adition to the MCU and another adventure in a galaxy far far away. Just as I did for last summer, I'll make a list of all the movie releases that are upon us until 2016 ends. Time to get started.

October
  • October 7: The Girl on the Train A divorcee becomes entangled in a missing persons investigation that promises to send shockwaves throughout her life.
  • October 14: The Accountant A forensic accountant un-cooks the books for illicit clients.
  • October 21: Jack Reacher: Never go Back Jack Reacher must uncover the truth behind a major government conspiracy in order to clear his name. On the run as a fugitive from the law, Reacher uncovers a potential secret from his past that could change his life forever.
  • October 28: Inferno When Robert Langdon wakes up in an Italian hospital with amnesia, he teams up with Dr. Sienna Brooks, and together they must race across Europe against the clock to foil a deadly global plot.
November
  • November 4: Doctor Strange A neurosurgeon with a destroyed career sets out to repair his hands only to find himself protecting the world from inter-dimensional threats. Trolls This holiday season, enter a colorful, wondrous world populated by hilariously unforgettable characters and discover the story of the overly optimistic Trolls, with a constant song on their lips, and the comically pessimistic Bergens, who are only happy when they have trolls in their stomach. Hacksaw Ridge WWII American Army Medic Desmond T. Doss, who served during the Battle of Okinawa, refuses to kill people and becomes the first Conscientious Objector in American history to be awarded the Medal of Honor.
  • November 11: Arrival A linguist is recruited by the military to assist in translating alien communications.
  • November 18: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them The adventures of writer Newt Scamander in New York's secret community of witches and wizards seventy years before Harry Potter reads his book in school.
  • November 25: Moana A young woman uses her navigational talents to set sail for a fabled island. Joining her on the adventure is her hero, the legendary demi-god Maui.
December
  • December 2: La La Land A jazz pianist falls for an aspiring actress in Los Angeles.
  • December 16: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story The Rebellion makes a risky move to steal the plans to the Death Star, setting up the epic saga to follow.
  • December 23: Passengers A spacecraft traveling to a distant colony planet and transporting thousands of people has a malfunction in its sleep chambers. As a result, two passengers are awakened 90 years early. Sing A koala named Buster Moon has one final chance to restore his theater to its former glory by producing the world's greatest singing competition. Assassin's Creed When Callum Lynch explores the memories of his ancestor Aguilar and gains the skills of a Master Assassin, he discovers he is a descendant of the secret Assassins society.
It's a long list and I've barely scratched the surface. So which movie do you look forward to the most? Let me know in the comments! Mine is Doctor Strange: a mix of Marvel and magic, add Benedict Cumberbatch and it sounds like the perfect mix to me.

  1. You mentioned all the films. Awesome Job. Okay, Doc Strange. I am most excited to see....umm....it's very hard to pick one. Alright, La La Land :) However i am least interested in seeing 'Inferno' which releases on next friday here in India. Not that i don't like Felicity or Tom. Both of them are my favourite actors but i didn't liked the trailer. Maybe good word of mouth will compell me to see it, along with Ben Affleck's 'Accountant'.

  2. La La Land look gorgeous, probably Oscar material. I loved the book by Dan Brown of Inferno, just as I loved the DaVinci Code and Angels and Demons, trailer looked good, hopefully you'll see it and it will surprise you!
