Hey everybody, Note before I begin: I've never seen the Ghost in the Shell anime version and I was not familiair with the story behind it, so I went into this movie all blanco. This means I will not be able to compare the movie to the anime version. I didn't know what to expect seeing this movie, and when the movie was of to a promising start showing of it's potential I'd hoped I was save. However, besides the stunning action sequences, the movie failed to keep the pace running. I lost my concentration several times, winning some back during those action scenes. I didn't help that the movie added some scenes which had no influence on the plot, which made it feel very long. I liked the idea behind the movie and  the visually stunning world they created sometimes reminded me of  Blade Runner  (1982). Hoi allemaal, Notitie voordat ik begin: Ik heb nog nooit de Ghost in the Shell anime versie gezien en ik was ook niet bekend met het verhaal erachter, dus ik ging helemaal blanco deze film in. Dit betekent dat ik niet in staat zal zijn om de film te vergelijken met de anime versie. Ik wist ook niet wat ik moest verwachten van deze film en wanneer de film een hoopvol begin had en zijn potentie gelijk liet zien dacht ik dat ik goed zat. Echter, behalve de spectaculaire actie scenes, weet de film het tempo niet hoog te houden. Ik ben mijn concentratie een aantal keer verloren. welke alleen werd terug gewonnen tijdens de actie scenes. Het hielp ook niet dat de film een aantal scenes had toegevoegd die absoluut geen invloed hadden op het verhaal, waardoor de film erg lang aanvoelde. Het idee achter de film vond ik erg leuk en de wereld die gecreëerd is, is visueel prachtig en deed me soms erg denken aan Blade Runner (1982). Hey everybody, I already tweeted this comment on my Twitter account (@MovieManouk) during the interval: I think they can best change the name of the movie from  Life to Death, because it sounds way more suitable after seeing the movie. It might by time for mankind to learn for good that it's not very wise to search for life beyond Earth, because those creatures seldom have good intentions. This creature is visually stunning and is  brought to life in a beautiful and terryfing way both at the same time. It effectively terrorises a spaceshuttle circeling above Earth.  Life  brings this terror in a surprisingly thrilling way. The movie uses the concept of space and its fastness, which has always been scary concept, to its advantage. Jake Gyllenhaal and Rebecca Ferguson give compelling performances, while Ryan Reynolds is just there doing Ryan Reynolds things.  You really want them and the rest of the crew to succeed in preventing the creature from reaching...

Hoi allemaal, Ik heb dit commentaar ook al neergezet op mijn Twitter account (@MovieManouk) tijdens de pauze in de film: Ik denk dat ze beter de titel van deze film kunnen veranderen van  Life naar Death, want dat vind ik toepasselijker na het zien van deze film. Ik denk dat het tijd is dat de mensheid leert dat het niet verstandig is om te zoeken naar buitenaards leven, want deze wezens hebben zelden goede intenties. Dit wezens is gebracht op een manier die zowel mooi als angstaanjagend is. Het terroriseert op effectieve wijze een spaceshuttle en zijn crew die boven de Aarde cirkelt. Life  brengt deze horror op een verrassende en thrillende manier. De film gebruikt het concept van ruimte en zijn oneindigheid, wat op zichzelf al een angstaanjagend gegeven is, in zijn voordeel. Hey everybody, In my blog about Dutch Comic Con 2017 (http://moviemanouk.blogspot.nl/2017/03/dutch-comic-con-2017-marx.html) I told you that I created my own character for Dutch Comic Con. This blog is to learn more about her. Her name is Marx and continue reading if you want to find out more about her. Marx Origin Professor, Doctor, Lady or even Princess, since she technically is one, Marx doesn't really care what you call her but just 'Marx' will do it for her. Marx is not a very usual name for a female here on Earth but on her home planet it has a great meaning, one that can not be described by any words used on our Earth. Her parents are king and queen on a far away planet which was at that point not yet discovered by the Guardians of the Galaxy, and the residents on that planet like to keep it that way. Sounds resionable, but for a young princess who wanted nothing more then to see and explore the galaxy, it's a cruel fate not to be able to leave your planet....

Many of you who're reading this will probably know what I'm talking about, but there's a good chance that you've never heard of Comic Con. Let me enlighten you. Comic Con There a dozens of different versions of Comic Con held all over the world but the most famous of them is held in San Diego, where the origins of this event lie. Comic Con is described as a multi-genre entertainment and comic book convention. During such an event in one part of the hall there are multiple panels with moviestars and directors and there are previews of upcoming movies. Hoi allemaal, Het is tijd om een aantal feiten over Kong: Skull Island hier uiteen te zetten. Feit 1: Kong: Skull Island is niet altijd de gebruikelijke monsterfilm. De meeste monsterfilms maken effectief gebruik van suspense en laten je vol spanning wachten op de grote onthulling van het monster. Kong: Skull Island had al duidelijk gemaakt uit de trailers dat ze van deze techniek geen gebruik zouden maken, sinds ze al hadden laten zien hoe Kong er uit kwam te zien. Kong ziet er fantastisch uit, maar het is toch jammer dat ze hem al hadden vrijgegeven want de suspense is een groot gedeelte van de lol van het kijken van een monsterfilm. Ik had het niet erg gevonden als ze hadden gewacht met het bekend maken van het uiterlijk van Kong. Feit 2: Kong: Skull Island brengt je het monsterfilm gevecht waar je op zit te wachten. Hey everybody, It's time to state the facts about Kong: Skull Island here. Fact 1: Kong: Skull Island isn't always your average monster movie. Most monster movies effectively use mystery to build up suspense and make you eagerly wait for the big reveal of the monster. Kong: Skull Island  made clear from the trailers that they weren't going to use that technique, since they already revealed how Kong would look. Kong looks great but it's a shame they already revealed him because that suspense building is a big part of the fun of watching a monster movie. I wouldn't have minded if they'd waited to reveal him in the movie itself. Fact 2: Kong: Skull Island brings you the movie monster battle you want. Kong, like Godzilla, isn't the main antagonist in the movie, but more the protagonist, also like Godzilla, and the movie ends with a great battle between protagonist and antagonist. Hoi allemaal, Hugh Jackman neemt je, als je fan bent van zijn karakter, mee in een emotionele achtbaan in zijn laatste film als Wolverine. Zijn vertolking van Wolverine is de fundatie waarop het X-men filmuniversum is gebouwd en na 17 jaar komt dit tot een eind in de meest prachtige en wilde manier die je maar kan bedenken.  Logan brengt ons eindelijk de Wolverine film waar we al jaren op zitten wachten in al zijn gewelddadige en strijdlustige glorie. Het heeft een paar fantastische, bloederige actie scenes die niet geschikt zijn voor de tere zieltjes, maar meer dan passen bij deze film. Naast de gewelddadige momenten laat Jackman ons meer van Wolverines humane kant zien, wat te verwachten valt aangezien het woord Wolverine niet in de titel voorkomt, en brengt ons zoals altijd een overtuigende en fantastische vertolking. Hey everybody, Hugh Jackman takes you, if you're a fan of his character, on an emotional rollercoaster in his final film as Wolverine. His portrayal of Wolverine is the foundation upon which the X-Men movie universe is build and after 17 years of playing the charactar it's coming to an end in the most beautiful and savage way you can imagine. Logan finally brings us the Wolverine movie we've been dying to see in all its violent and berserker glory. It features some amazing, bloody action scenes that aren't for the lighthearted, but are more then fitting in this movie. Besides the violent moments Jackman showes us more of Wolverine's human part, which could be expected since the title didn't feature a mention of Wolverine, and brings us, as always, a compelling and amazing performance.
