Dutch Comic Con 2017: Marx
Hey everybody,
In my world of geeks, movielovers, -fans and -fanatics there a two words that will certainly spike enthousiasm in all of our hearts: Comic Con. Many of you who're reading this will probably know what I'm talking about, but there's a good chance that you've never heard of Comic Con. Let me enlighten you.
Comic Con
There a dozens of different versions of Comic Con held all over the world but the most famous of them is held in San Diego, where the origins of this event lie. Comic Con is described as a multi-genre entertainment and comic book convention. During such an event in one part of the hall there are multiple panels with moviestars and directors and there are previews of upcoming movies. The other part is filled with exhibitors and you can buy all sorts of merchandise here. But arguably the most fun part of Comic Con for visitors is cosplaying. Cosplay is a form of performance art in which participants, known as cosplayers, wear costumes to represent a specific character. During Comic Con almost every character featured in the world of movies, tv series and games, in all shapes and sizes, can be seen walking around the building.
Dutch Comic Con
I was always jealous when viewing all the tweets on my timeline of people in America who got to visit San Diego Comic-Con. I wasn't possible for me, a Dutchmen, to visit such an event. So you can imagine my enthousiasm when at the end of 2014 I discovered that since that year there was a Dutch version of Comic Con, called: Dutch Comic Con. It was held in Utrecht, very close to my home and I was very excited but I also didn't knew what to expect. It exceded my expectations
. The hall was filled with exhibitors and I loved seeing so many cosplayers and movielovers.
Cosplaying
Last year my friend and I did an attempt to cosplay, very poorly for the first time, but it was a lot of fun. I dressed up as Princess Leia, a bad ass character of course, but this year I wanted something more special. So I came up with an idea: why not create my own superhero/bad ass female character? My imagination quickly roamed free, as it does so often, and I soon came up with some pretty solid ideas for my character. Interested in my character Marx? Go to this link (http://moviemanouk.blogspot.nl/2017/03/marx-origin-powers-and-more.html) and find more about her powers, appearance and origin.
See you all at Dutch Comic Con on the 26th of March.
