Summer Movie Preview 2018
Hey everybody,
The sun here in the Netherlands is shining again, and that means summer is on it's way. Summer movie season officially starts at the beginning of May. Now since Avengers: Infinity War was released a week earlier, it officially doesn't belong on this list anymore, but I couldn't help to give a shout-out to it. Luckily there are plenty more anticipated movies to be released this summer.
Just like last year I am here to shed a light at the summer movies that will be released between May and August that will hopefully blow us away.
Deadpool 2 After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry's hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor - finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World's Best Lover.
May 25
Solo: A Star Wars Story During an adventure into a dark criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his future copilot Chewbacca and encounters Lando Calrissian years before joining the Rebellion
Adrift Based on the true story of survival, a young couple's chance encounter leads them first to love, and then on the adventure of a lifetime as they face one of the most catastrophic hurricanes in recorded history.
American Animals Four young men mistake their lives for a movie and attempt one of the most audacious heists in U.S. history.
June 8
Ocean's 8 Debbie Ocean gathers a crew to attempt an impossible heist at New York City's yearly Met Gala.
June 15
Incredibles 2 Bob Parr (Mr. Incredible) is left to care for Jack-Jack while Helen (Elastigirl) is out saving the world.

June 29
Sicario: Day of the Soldado The drug war on the US-Mexico border has escalated as the cartels have begun trafficking terrorists across the US border. To fight the war, federal agent Matt Graver re-teams with the mercurial Alejandro.
Ant-Man and the Wasp As Scott Lang balances being both a Super Hero and a father, Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym present an urgent new mission that finds the Ant-Man fighting alongside The Wasp to uncover secrets from their past.
July 13
Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation Mavis surprises Dracula with a family voyage on a luxury Monster Cruise Ship so he can take a vacation from providing everyone else's vacation at the hotel. The rest of Drac's Pack cannot resist going along.
Skyscraper FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader and U.S. war veteran Will Ford, who now assesses security for skyscrapers. On assignment in Hong Kong he finds the tallest, safest building in the world suddenly ablaze, and he's been framed for it. A wanted man on the run, Will must find those responsible, clear his name and somehow rescue his family who is trapped inside the building...above the fire line.

The Darkest Minds Imprisoned by an adult world that now fears everyone under 18, a group of teens form a resistance group to fight back and reclaim control of their future.
The Spy Who Dumped Me Audrey (Kunis) and Morgan (McKinnon) are best friends who unwittingly become entangled in an international conspiracy when one of the women discovers the boyfriend who dumped her was actually a spy.
August 10
The Meg After escaping an attack by what he claims was by a 70-foot shark, Jonas Taylor must confront his fears to save those trapped in a sunken submersible.
August 17
Captive State Set in a Chicago neighborhood nearly a decade after an occupation by an extra-terrestrial force, Captive State explores the lives on both sides of the conflict - the collaborators and dissidents.
White Boy Rick The story of teenager Richard Wershe Jr., who became an undercover informant for the FBI during the 1980s and was ultimately arrested for drug-trafficking and sentenced to life in prison.
August 24
Replicas A scientist becomes obsessed with bringing back his family members who died in a traffic accident.
So there you have it. It is really strange for me to have a Star Wars movie to be released in the middle of summer, and I sometimes even forget it is going to be here so soon. I think I am most excited for the Jurassic World sequel, because against my policy, I have watched that trailer so many times already. Let's hope it will be the best Jurassic Park sequel so far.
With love,
MovieManouk
