Live by Night (EN) Review
Hey everybody,
I went into Live by Night thinking it was a thriller, and came out really dissapointed. The movie as a thriller had failed to keep me on the edge of my seat. I was however horrible wrong: the movie wasn't suppose to be a thriller, but a crime drama. It's really hard to change your perspective then but nonetheless I've done that. The movie has a great start and I thought: if this is going to be the pace of the rest of the movie I'm good. The movie certainly has its moments but because of the lack of pace, after the first 30 minutes, couldn't keep me interested. I lost the red wire through the story somewhere near the third part of the movie, I thought I knew where the story was going. What little action we get is great and is however only a too small part of this crime drama. It wasn't however for the lack of starpower: Affleck and the rest of the cast give great performances. Ben Affleck shows once again he has great potential as a director. I'm looking forward to see him make more of these movies. A promising start of 2017.
