Dunkirk (EN) Review
Hey everybody,
This may sound weird, but I always feel some sort of pride when a Hollywood movie is shot in The Netherlands. So it may not come as a surprise if I tell you Dunkirk is partly shot in The Netherlands. I don't want to sound too cocky but I must say The Netherlands lands itself to some pretty amazing shots and scenes. Dunkirk overal is shot in a unique way. The movie has a very intens feeling because of the setting, but never gets that extreme feeling which I felt watching Hacksaw Ridge (2016). The movie focuses on a few storylines and characters, who eventually come together. The characters aren’t very developed, some of them are never called by their names, and there is very little dialogue througout the movie, but that is only suiting for the way this story is told. It makes it however a bit difficult to relate to this characters on a certain level. On the other hand: these men are victims of the war and I can fully understand why they want to go home. The characters that do get a little background however just feel a little more alive to me. Dunkirk is one of those movie you have to watch on the biggest screen possible, so the movie will really suck you into the story.
